Barista/Register and other front-of-house roles

Pillowfight Coffee is a coffee shop that opened on Nov. 8, 2024 in the heart of Kenwood in Sonoma County, California. We are looking for all front-of-house positions to continue building on our excellent team of employees who are passionate about great coffee and great food, and excited to grow a local small business!

All team members cross-train for all stations, building up from food pre/bake and register to barista roles. Starting wage is $18.00/hour plus tips, with an increase to $18.50 after barista training is complete. Further wage increases after one year’s employment are possible.

Roles to be filled include:

• Food prep/bake
• Register
• Barista
• Afternoon bake/close out
• Shift manager

All front-of-house team members will be required to:

• Greet customers in a friendly manner (at least one person to do so immediately upon customer entering), and thank them as they make transactions and leave
• Assist guests with pastry and beverage selections
• Use POS system (Toast)
• Prep food
• Prep coffee drinks and other beverages
• Maintain a clean, organized work space at all times
• Routine cleaning and organizing throughout the day
• Follow all opening and closing tasks described for their station

Requirements:

• Positive, friendly attitude with excellent communication skills
• Be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Reliability. Shifts are 4-8 hours long with most starting between 6-7am
• Reliable transportation to Kenwood
• Follow all company policies and procedures for all food and beverage items
• Complete Food Handlers Certification upon hire
• Ability to speak English

Preferred:

• Customer service experience
• Barista experience
• POS experience (Toast is a plus)
• At least 1 weekend day availability
• Flexible as schedules may change

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, kneeling, bending and reaching overhead
• Must be able to stand for long periods
• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
