Full job description
Title: Domestic Violence Lead Advocate Bilingual
Purpose: To provide coordinated, trauma informed, holistic direct services to individuals of all ages, races, nationalities, cultures, spiritual practices, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender role.
Duties:
1. Conduct intake assessment, development and implementation of a case plan based on identified needs,
2. Provide ongoing counseling, information, and emotional support to enhance client’s coping skills in effectively negotiating for needed resources,
3 Develop appropriate system linkages and referrals to achieve client case plan,
4. Responsible for monitoring and tracking service utilization,
5. Facilitation and evaluation of services and outcome measures,
6. Responsible for collection and maintenance of client records and service data,
7. Participation in domestic violence on-call response,
8. Hotline and on-call coverage as needed
9. Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Domestic Violence Program Team Lead/Director of Victim Services.
Accountability:
The Domestic Violence Lead Advocate is responsible to the Program Team Lead and/or /Director of
Victim Services, and the client population for the timely, professional and effective performance of all job duties.
Qualifications:
1. Fluency in Spanish is required.
2. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the identified client population or experience with a similar population and setting that is transferable.
3. A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to ending domestic violence.
4. Understanding of intersectionality and the impact of oppression on survivors of color.
5. Demonstrated sensitivity to issues of social justice.
6. Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams.
7. Ability to expand communication style to multiple cultural environments.
8. Willingness to utilize, share, and/or develop technology skills.
9. Ability to network with other professionals within and outside the Agency, and with the business community on behalf of the client population.
10. Valid New Jersey Driver’s License and insurability with AVANZAR's insurance carrier.
