BILLING AND ACCOUNTS SPECIALIST – Job Description

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:

Western New York Integrated Care Collaborative (WNYICC) is an innovative non-profit corporation, incorporated in 2016. As the Community Care Hub of a multi-county Social Care Network of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and government agencies, we are strategically positioned to respond to and capitalize on opportunities to advance community-based integrated health care and to bring sustainability to community-based programs and services which address social determinants of health. WNYICC’s role in the network is to provide administrative contracting, billing, technical support, training, and quality assurance on a regional level. The WNYICC Network works collaboratively to navigate the changing healthcare landscape together to improve health outcomes in our Western New York community.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Billing and Accounts Specialist is responsible for executing billing and coordinating accounts and financial services for social and healthcare services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process and coordinate billing of WNYICC programs.
  • Submit medical billing claims for claims-based services
  • Prepare and submit invoices for invoice-based services; Review outgoing invoices for accuracy
  • Receive invoices from partners and reconcile claims
  • Perform posting charges
  • Perform completion of claims to payers
  • Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion
  • Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers
  • Process claims
  • Work with our revenue cycle management contractor to resolve denial instances
  • Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
  • Conduct Medicare and commercial insurance reviews
  • Conduct NY Medicaid reviews
  • Conduct audits
  • Work directly with our sub-contracted delivery partners to ensure accuracy in invoices and payments to partners.
  • Maintain grant budget reports and ensure grants’ financial requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Provide training and support to WNYICC partners on billing and invoicing processes and requirements.
  • Provide support for assigned workgroups and committees of the Network.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service on phone, in-person, via email and in all aspects of employment at WNYICC.
  • Communicates in a positive manner both internally and externally to partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful experience providing medical billing, invoicing, and/or grant management.
  • Strong attention to detail with accuracy in data entry and analysis, in a high volume environment
  • Strong computer/technology skills preferred including: medical billing systems, electronic health record, Microsoft Office-Suite, Outlook, spreadsheets, and more.
  • Experience with HIPAA regulations and billing health insurance is preferred.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community with a track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
  • Ability to multi-task and willing to take on new projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working both in a Team environment and independently.
