Job Description

The Behavior Analyst for REED Next will be responsible for the delivery and oversight of clinical programming for REED's adult-day program and community-based residences. Clinical programming includes behavior assessment, development of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs, as well as training and supervision of behavior intervention programs.

REED Autism Services is a 501c3 non-profit organization serving individuals with autism across their lifespan so they can thrive and achieve their full potential. Our family of programs: REED Academy, a leading school for students ages 3-21 with campuses in Oakland and Franklin Lakes, NJ; REED Next, offering community-based services for adults with autism ages 21 and older, including residential services, day programming, and job support; Greens Do Good, an innovative, indoor hydroponic vertical farm providing critical job training and employment for teens and adults on the spectrum; REED Intensive Behavior Services, serving children and adolescents with autism who engage in severe challenging behavior, and the REED Foundation for Autism, an active incubator for new ideas and the charitable engine of REED programs.

Full Time: 40 hours

Monday - Friday

Consistent with our commitment to safety, REED Next has made the decision to require all new hires to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated as a condition of hire. Fully vaccinated is defined as having receiving both Covid vaccinations and the booster.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a behavior analysis expert to the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Deliver clinical and case management services
  • Design and conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) including Functional Analyses
  • Conduct preference and reinforcement assessments
  • Develop behavior interventions designed to increase adaptive behavior and decrease severe challenging behavior
  • Design behavior data systems, analyze, and graph data
  • Train Direct Support Staff (DSP) to implement behavior support plans and other clinical initiatives.
  • Monitor the integrity of BSP implementation
  • Utilize Behavior Skills Training as needed for behavior interventions
  • Write reports and summaries of client progress
  • Attend client progress meetings
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders (e.g., parents, support coordinators, REED personnel, etc)
  • Identify specific program areas in need of improvement, develop and deliver clinical training for these areas, and provide continuing education on behavior analytic services
  • Leads clinical discussion/review in resident roundtable meetings, ISP meetings, and IDT meetings
  • Provides effective supervision for RBT, BCaBA, and/or BCBA candidates
  • May serve as a direct supervisor for residential/day program Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS)

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be certified as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCBA); Candidates must be in good standing according to the BACB. Candidates must have their certification at least 1 year being certified.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, special education (or related field) from an accredited university.Strong communication skills, both written and oral are required. Demonstrates skills in ABA assessment and treatment strategies. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • Participate and pass Pre-Employment, In-Service and Annual Training requirements of NJ DDD & REED Next.
  • Pass CPR & First Aid. Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record is in compliance with organization’s driving policy. Clear criminal record and other background checks in accordance with NJ DDD State & REED Next requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a clinical lead with supervisory or management experience; Experience & expertise in conducting functional assessments, treatment analysis, and the development of behavior intervention plans; Experience managing various forms of challenging behavior (ranging from minor to intensive). Experience working with adults in residential/day program settings is highly preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 and have received the booster.
