Overview: The Assistant Daily Money Manager (DMM) role is crucial in supporting the primary DMM to deliver personalized financial management services to clients. This position involves assisting with various financial tasks and serving as a backup during the primary DMM's absence, ensuring continuous service delivery and client satisfaction. This part-time position (10-20 hours/week) offers the potential to grow into more hours and a primary DMM position in the future. Most tasks can be completed remotely with a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and Documentation:

  • Track transactions in Quicken and assist in organizing financial documents.
  • Ensure proper categorization and request missing information from the primary DMM or the client.
  • Help monitor account balances and identify irregularities or unauthorized transactions, reporting findings to the primary DMM.

Bill Payment Assistance:

  • Support the primary DMM in managing bill payment processes, ensuring timely payment of bills, invoices, and other financial obligations.
  • Help monitor due dates and track payment histories, addressing any billing discrepancies or issues as directed.

Budgeting and Financial Planning Support:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining personalized budgets based on income, expenses, and financial goals.

Financial Reporting Support:

  • Assist in preparing and organizing financial reports, summaries, and analyses for clients under the guidance of the primary DMM.

General administrative tasks:

  • Occasionally help with administrative duties like client document pickups, document scanning, and filing.

Further Responsibilities

  • Act as a deputy for the client's primary DMM's during absence periods. This may include keeping in-person appointments with the client.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); bachelor’s or associate degree in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools within a PC environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g., Quicken, QuickBooks, Xero, Excel) is preferable.
  • Solid understanding of personal finances
  • Must pass a civil and criminal background check and have no bankruptcy history.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding clients' personal and financial affairs.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and client needs.

  • Must have car and be willing to occasionally visit clients in the Vancouver/Portland Metro area.
