Box Office Agents perform a variety of clerical and customer service functions for patrons of the Appell Center for the Performing Arts and their resident companies. Agents are responsible for processing ticket sales in person and over the phone. This position will also assist in daily operations of the box office including mailings, filings and other duties as assigned.
Schedule
This position will work in the Appell Center Box Office during regular business hours, Monday - Friday 9:30PM - 4:30PM, schedule to be determined. In addition, Box Office Agents are required to work evenings and weekends for events as needed, working up to 15-20 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Greet patrons entering the Box Office, answer and direct incoming telephone calls
· Answer questions and provide information regarding Appell Center, upcoming performances and events
· Process single ticket sales, subscription ticket sales and exchanges using Tessitura ticketing software
· Adhere to ACPA cash handling procedures when processing cash, check or credit card transactions
· Maintain constituent records by collecting, editing, formatting and merging accounts.
· Perform clerical tasks including filing, copying and other various office duties

· Experience in a ticketing box office environment preferred, but not required
· Proficient computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
· Superb customer service skills with the ability to efficiently and effectively resolve issues for patrons
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Bilingual abilities a plus
· Strong organizational skills with high level of accuracy and professionalism
· Must be available to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
· A love or appreciation of theatre/the arts is encouraged
Education and Experience
At least 1 year of customer service in communications and sales preferred.
