Boys only dance teacher

Children’s Dance Theater is looking for a motivated male individual to lead the Boys Explore Dance program. This new class offering is similar to our typical dance class, this one is just for the guys. We will use games and adventurous stories to focus their high energy and teach them about moving and rhythm, while allowing them to use their creativity and explore teamwork. This instructor will lead a dance class that is based in ballet however has multiple style elements and can include other mediums that help encourage boys to be involved in dance. Each rehearsal also prepares students to be a part of a ballet production. Participants in the fall session will perform in the Nutcracker. Participants in the spring session will perform in the Spring Ballet production. This program is geared to students ages 5-9 years old, possibly older.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

● previous dance training at a basic level including ballet. Other styles encouraged.

● Working knowledge and ability to teach dance to all ages, levels and abilities

● Ability to motivate and coach young students to perform and achieve results

● Excellent interpersonal communication, organization, planning and customer service

skills

● Availability to work ALL scheduled classes, rehearsals and performance. Including

evenings and weekends (as needed)

● Demonstrate kindness with students, colleagues and parents

● Maintain our positive atmosphere

● Use verbal and written communication skills

● Have professional personal presentation

● Strong organizing and planning experience

● Pay attention to details

● Have outstanding reliability

Dates:

Spring: March 1st-April 10th, weekly Saturday rehearsals, tech week and show weekend is required. Must be available May 5th-10th for theater rehearsal. Performances are May 9th & 10th

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 per week
