Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to be responsible for data aggregation, analysis, and interpretation. This position utilizes standardized methodologies and continuous quality improvement principles to produce both ongoing and ad hoc reports for the purpose of regional benchmarking, data quality improvement, and healthcare coalition emergency preparedness and response performance improvement.
The Analyst will identify and integrate new data sources with existing organizational data maintenance and analysis initiatives. The Analyst will coordinate with the Data & Informatics Manager and NCTTRAC committees across the Preparedness & Response and Emergency Healthcare Systems divisions as assigned to identify data-related needs, produce regular reports, and build programmatic data-driven systems performance improvement. This position will work with the Data & Informatics Manager and the IT department to develop and maintain comprehensive organizational data sources. The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating, documenting, and mapping business and data analysis processes and procedures in use by NCTTRAC.

Primary Responsibilities
- Pull, manipulate, and structure data from different sources including but not limited to:
- EMResource
- NCTTRAC Regional Trauma Registry
- Regional Advisory Council (RAC) Data Collaborative
- Department of State Health Services EMS and Trauma Registry (EMSTR)
- American Heart Association (AHA)’s Get With the Guidelines (GWTG)
- Various datasets & registries provided by local, state, and federal government entities.
- Interpret data, analyze results, and present data using standardized techniques to identify trends and opportunities for improvement within the emergency healthcare system.
- Gather data from regional partners to produce reports showing the impact of an emergency or disaster on the emergency healthcare system.
- Work with NCTTRAC committees to identify and execute data collection and analysis initiatives.
- Produce recurring and ad hoc reports to fulfill information requests.
- Produce easily interpretable dashboards and data visualizations for internal and external use using data visualization tools including but not limited to PowerBI.
- Support NCTTRAC staff in the development of programmatic surveys to ensure results are valid and valuable.
- Use data to proactively identify strengths and areas of improvement both within the organization and among the Healthcare Coalition.
- Support the development of programmatic key performance indicators and produce regular performance reports.
- Maintain databases and data collection systems.
- Support projects and deliverables attributable to NCTTRAC’s compliance requirements found in DSHS Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) Scope of Work.
- Evaluate, document, and map business and data analysis processes and procedures in use by NCTTRAC.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education, Training, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related subject.
- Previous experience in business analysis and/or database management of two years or more, preferably healthcare, or public health related.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database functionality, and data management techniques
- Previous experience with managing a team.
- Experience with government grant compliance required.
- Must possess a current, valid Texas driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Knowledge of:
- Database query languages (such as SQL)
- Data visualization tools (such as Power BI or Tableau)
- Data analysis methods and programs (such as Excel or SPSS)
- Microsoft Power Platform suite
- Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and tools (such as Clic Data)
- Technical writing including queries, reports, and presentations.
- Healthcare data maintenance standards
- HTML, CSS, XML
- API implementation and access (preferred)
- Project management methodologies (preferred)
- Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, and particularly Excel and Access
Ability to:
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Continuously acquire new skills, systems, and processes.
- Prioritize and manage multiple, diverse, and time-sensitive tasks simultaneously with acute attention to detail and minimal supervision.
- Carry out responsibilities with a high level of professionalism.
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with good organizational skills, including project management and attention to detail.
- Exercise independent judgment in making day to day decisions with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in data management and visualization, Healthcare Coalition Data Initiatives and Emergency Healthcare System Data Initiatives.
- Demonstrate a high level of “customer service” toward internal and external “customers” at all times.
- Work overtime, overnight, and on weekends during emergencies and disasters.
- Work under pressure for extended periods of time.

Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
