Full job description

WHO WE ARE:

At Riverland, we specialize in building community wherever our clients are. By bringing a personal touch to banking, we focus on the relationships behind the finances. It is our mission to provide first choice banking on a first name basis. We believe that community banks should benefit everyone in their local area and beyond – from small towns to big cities. In 2005, Riverland Bank was founded in Jordan, Minnesota. Today, our experienced team of banking experts serve the Twin Cities metro and suburban communities with an office also in Northeast Minneapolis. Join our growing team to help our customers, offer a better banking experience, and make a greater impact in the community.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a member of the business banking team this position is responsible for developing and managing lending, deposit and other commercial banking relationships. Necessary skills include the ability to effectively understand the business needs of customers, partnering with other team members to deliver an outstanding customer experience, proposing products and services that meet customers' needs, financial analysis, credit analysis, credit decision making, loan documentation, and handling collection of commercial loans to protect and manage assets entrusted by the organization. The successful candidate will enjoy networking, relationship building and portfolio management.

Essential duties include:

  • Develop new commercial banking relationships with an emphasis on depository clients, specifically Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and nonprofit customers that have deposit and lending needs, through self-directed sales efforts and collaboration with other team members. This position will have specific deposit goals, and we are open to candidates that may have less experience in lending if they can demonstrate a track record of bringing in core deposits and new C&I relationships successfully.
  • Generate and sustain a pipeline of prospective commercial relationships by meeting with business owners, controllers, CFOs, attorneys, CPAs and other centers of influence.
  • Be active in the community and represent the bank at various trade functions.
  • Cross sell cash management and other products and services to achieve bank goals.
  • Effectively collaborate with credit analysts and others in the credit approval chain to grow the commercial banking portfolio as well as to maintain good asset quality.
  • Present written and verbal presentations to Bank’s loan committee.
  • Respond to customer needs, solve problems and coordinate solutions with other departments of the bank.
  • Monitor existing portfolio, including managing overdrafts, past dues, monthly borrowing bases, problem loans, to adequately protect the bank and limit loan policy exceptions.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Availability to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm; exempt. Position will be based at either our Minneapolis or Jordan office. Regular and reliable attendance at the workplace is required, along with passing a pre-employment background check.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of commercial credit and C&I lending experience

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Competitive pay and incentives
  • Health insurance with the ability to choose which plan option is best for you – a Traditional Health Plan or Health Savings Plan.
  • Affordable dental and vision insurance coverage.
  • Competitive paid time off package, and the longer your tenure, the more PTO you’ll have to enjoy.
  • 11 paid holidays each year.
  • Sabbatical leave is available to eligible employees who have provided eight years of service.
  • Riverland matches your 401(k) contribution dollar for dollar up to 6%.
  • Eligibility for profit sharing opportunities in the form of a contribution to your 401(k) account.
  • Employer-paid Short Term and Long Term Disability benefits.
  • $50,000 of employer-provided life insurance with the option to purchase additional coverage for yourself, spouse and eligible dependents.
