Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and review of loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate
- Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information for FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and other regulatory requirements
- Help process loans efficiently by managing TILA (Truth in Lending Act) disclosures, escrow instructions, and contracts
- Maintain meticulous records of loan files, contracts, and compliance documentation in accordance with banking standards
- Support mortgage servicing activities by tracking payments, escrow accounts, and ensuring adherence to Fair Housing regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate loan approvals, fund disbursements, and post-closing procedures
- Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC policies and procedures.
- Administratively supports lenders with the documentation of loan relationships, loan processing functions, review of file documentation prior to submission of the loan for follow-up activities.
- Interfaces with customers and others concerning loan issues including loan advances, billing and general inquiries, interest rate and interest paid information, loan history information, etc.
- Prepares closing documentation for loans. Closes new and renewal loans and assures proceeds are disbursed accurately and efficiently.
- Reviews loan packages for completeness of documentation and identifies legal, compliance and documentation requirements for each loan.
Experience
- Prior experience in loan origination or mortgage processing within financial services is highly desirable
- Experience with compiling loan packages
- Knowledge of HMDA, escrow procedures, and basic math skills necessary for accurate calculations
- Experience working with loan officers or in a banking environment involving contracts and loan documentation
- Strong understanding of fair housing laws and mortgage servicing standards
- Knowledge of insurance requirements for lending
- Hands on working with loan closings, attorneys, insurance requirements, and loan documentation is essential
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of financial institution compliance procedures and policies.
