PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. IT IS LOCATED IN RALEIGH, NC
The Business Development Associate III (BDA3) is a senior-level contributor responsible for leading high-impact business development efforts and driving strategic growth. This role manages complex client relationships, leads discovery and negotiation conversations, and plays a key role in shaping the company's business development strategy. The BDA3 is expected to identify and pursue new market opportunities, support the development of marketing and sales strategies, and represent the company at key industry events. In addition to leading client engagements, the BDA3 mentors junior team members and collaborates closely with leadership to align business development initiatives with company goals.
Specific job duties:
· Act as EGC’s first point of contact for prospective clients.
· Drive strategic growth across EGC’s grant writing and accounting services.
· Schedule and hold introductory and follow-on calls and meetings with prospective and existing clients.
· Utilize advanced selling techniques, specifically identifying client needs and communicating the EGC’s services and capabilities that can address these needs.
· Craft clear, polished, and prompt email communications that reflect a high standard of professionalism.
· Maintain accurate and timely client status updates in Salesforce CRM.
· Coordinate closely with all departments at EGC.
· Represent company at conferences.
· Contribute to marketing and client outreach strategies.
· Stay abreast of competitors and sales trends.
· Provide feedback to EGC leadership on market trends and client needs.
· Ensure highest level of customer satisfaction.
· Achieve individual sales goals and contribute to sales department targets.
· Mentor and coach junior team members to elevate performance of team.
Core Competencies:
· Deep understanding of consultative sales principles and business development strategies.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Proactive and self-directed, with a proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
· Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
· Proficiency with Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform or similar platforms.
· Collaborative mindset with experience mentoring junior team members or supporting cross-functional teams.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
· Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships and contribute to revenue growth.
· Deep passion for supporting companies and entrepreneurs in advancing scientific discoveries and driving innovation.
· Ability to grasp and convey technical concepts in the scientific and accounting fields.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet aggressive key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive revenue growth in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience mentoring or leading junior team members and contributing to overall team success.
Minimum of 5 years of business development or sales experience, preferably within the life sciences, technology, or related sectors.
