Business Intelligence Analyst

Power BI | VBA | ERP Data | On-Site | Edwardsville, IL

Nevco Sports is seeking a technically strong, hands-on Business Intelligence Analyst embedded within Finance to support analytics, reporting, and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working directly with raw data from legacy ERP systems and who enjoys building Power BI datasets, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions from scratch.

This is not a report-consumer or dashboard-viewer role. The successful candidate will own analytics end-to-end — from data extraction and transformation to modeling, visualization, and automation.

This Role Is Best Suited For Someone Who:

· Builds Power BI dashboards from raw data, not prebuilt models

· Enjoys cleaning, structuring, and modeling messy legacy ERP data

· Uses Excel and VBA/Macros to automate recurring reporting

· Can translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights

Key Responsibilities - Business Intelligence & Data Analytics

· Extract, clean, and transform data from legacy ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Made2Manage), spreadsheets, and flat files

· Design, build, and maintain Power BI datasets and data models, including relationships, calculated columns, and DAX measures

· Develop interactive dashboards to visualize financial and operational metrics related to manufacturing efficiency, inventory, supply chain, and sales

· Own dashboards end-to-end: data sourcing → transformation → modeling → visualization → refresh logic

· Automate recurring reports and analytics using Excel VBA, Power Query, and BI tools to reduce manual effort

· Translate financial and operational data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders

Financial Analysis & Modeling

· Analyze financial data, manufacturing costs, sales performance, and operational drivers to support profitability analysis by product, customer, project, or market segment

· Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting, pricing analysis, margin analysis, and scenario planning

· Assist with financial simulations related to go-to-market initiatives, including volume assumptions, cost sensitivity, and pricing impacts

Systems, Strategy & Projects

· Support ERP optimization efforts and upcoming system upgrades

· Assist with strategic initiatives including pricing analysis, cost optimization, and potential acquisition due diligence

· Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as assigned

Qualifications Required

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field

· 2–5 years of experience in business intelligence, financial analytics, or data-driven finance roles

· Hands-on experience building Power BI dashboards and data models from raw data

· Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (relationships, measures, DAX)

· Advanced Excel skills, including VBA / Macro development for reporting automation

· Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite, Made2Manage, or similar)

· Ability to independently translate raw data into clear dashboards and insights

· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

· Self-motivated, intuitive, and detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time

· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment

Preferred / Nice to Have

· Manufacturing or cost accounting experience

· SQL experience for data extraction and transformation

· Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs, supply chain finance, and procurement analytics

· Experience supporting ERP migrations or system upgrades

Important Note (Strongly Recommended)

This role requires hands-on development of Power BI datasets and dashboards from raw data sources. Candidates whose experience is limited to consuming or lightly modifying existing dashboards will not be successful in this role.
