This position is located in Georgetown, Delaware. St. Michael the Archangel/Mary Mother of Peace is seeking an experienced, full-time, Business/Finance Manager to act as administrator in support of the Pastor’s responsibilities to the Parish. This minister is a steward of the physical, financial and personnel resources of the parish.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all accounting and financial reporting work for the Parish.
  • Reviews, verifies, and prepares all general ledger journal entries.
  • Examines and evaluates the general ledger for unusual balances or transactions.
  • Manages Parish bank account reconciliations and records monthly activities.
  • Directs the management of the parish office and oversees the management of parish records including personnel records.
  • Reviews and verifies accuracy and timeliness of all receipts and payments.
  • Processes weekly and monthly payroll for Parish employees and maintains accurate employee information in Paylocity.
  • Coordinates parish liability and property insurance, workers’ compensation with diocesan general insurance program.
  • Attends all pastoral staff meetings and Parish Finance Council meetings, as necessary.
  • Administers salaries and benefits programs and establishes and maintains evaluation process.
  • Maintains accuracy of all financial files and records and establishes a responsible cash flow management system.
  • Processes all accounts payables and receivables for the Parish.
  • Oversees procurement of all necessary goods and services for Liturgy, Offices and Facilities.
  • Prepares, administers, and reviews budget process and Annual Report for review and/or approval by Finance Committee as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field and 3 years of experience to include accounting and financial reporting, vendor management, and payroll administration or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and multi-task effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Proven experience managing a budget.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Strong understanding of the culture and structure of the Catholic Church.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
