This position is designed to ensure a collaborative approach to fulfilling project goals while taking on responsibilities independently to advance NNEDV’s mission. The Senior Specialist will engage in direct consultation with FVPSA State Administrators and the 56 state/territorial domestic violence coalitions, playing a vital role in the successful implementation of program initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Training and Technical Assistance:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of CTA to develop and implement training and technical assistance for FVPSA State Administrators, including peer-to-peer coaching sessions, onboarding new administrators, and supporting program guidance and compliance with the FVPSA final rule.
  • Engage in direct communication with coalitions and administrators to provide responsive, tailored training, technical assistance, and support on a wide range of topics and issues.

Relationship Building:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with state/territorial domestic violence coalitions and FVPSA State Administrators, serving as a reliable resource and national technical assistance (TA) provider for guidance and support.
  • Proactively respond to daily technical assistance requests from FVPSA State Administrators, coalition leaders and staff, offering expertise and solutions that meet their needs.

Support to the Senior Manager of CTA:

  • Provide consistent support to the Senior Manager of CTA in developing and delivering training and technical assistance to FVPSA State Administrators and state/territorial domestic violence coalition leaders, with a focus on areas such as board governance, non-profit management, grants compliance, and personnel management.
  • Assist in planning and implementing in-person consultations, training sessions, webinars, and regional meetings, including coordination with presenters and funder requirements.

National Coalition Leadership Summit Planning:

  • Play a significant role in planning the annual National Coalition Leadership Summit, working closely with the Senior Manager to identify emerging trends, select topics, and manage speakers, ensuring the summit reflects the latest in best practices and knowledge sharing.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with funders and other national TA providers, providing information, referrals, and acting as a point of contact for inquiries.
  • Work closely with NNEDV’s national partners to ensure a seamless delivery of resources and technical assistance.

Resource Development:

  • Develop resources and training materials addressing specialized issues impacting FVPSA State Administrators, state and territorial coalitions, such as board development, leadership transition, grant management, grants compliance, FVPSA requirements, and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of CTA to ensure materials reflect best practices and meet the evolving needs of coalitions and FVPSA State Administrators.

Program Implementation and Grant Compliance:

  • Work closely with the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) and the Office of Family Violence Prevention Services (OFVPS) to support FVPSA formula grantees, ensuring adherence to program guidelines, best practices, and compliance requirements.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Assist in drafting program and grant-required reports, ensuring accurate collection and reporting of training and technical assistance data.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend national meetings to build and sustain partnerships that enhance the Capacity TA Project’s impact.
  • Act as a liaison with non-governmental and governmental partners as assigned.
  • Contribute to organization-wide initiatives, including policy development, communications efforts, and agency-wide activities as needed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, with at least 7 years in domestic violence prevention, preferably with a state/territorial coalition or as a FVPSA State Administrator.
  • Significant leadership experience and expertise in federal grants management, specifically with OVW and FVPSA grants.
