Caregiver - Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Focus

As a Caregiver at Floor23 Care, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide compassionate, personalized care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is about more than daily assistance; it's about empowering residents to achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. Caregivers work closely with a supportive team to implement care plans, engage residents in meaningful activities, and create a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, and eating, while encouraging independence.
• Support individualized behavior plans and use positive reinforcement to promote beneficial behaviors.
• Facilitate participation in social and recreational activities, tailored to the interests and abilities of each resident.
• Observe and report changes in residents' behavior or health to supervisory staff.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and clean living environment.
• Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure a holistic approach to resident well-being.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification or degree in a related field (such as CNA or Direct Support Professional) is a plus.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to care.
• Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to residents' changing needs.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and transportation of residents as needed.
• Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and positive experiences for all residents.

Work Environment:

This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of our residents. Caregivers are essential in creating a positive, family-like atmosphere within our residential facilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 29 per week
