Hours: 20-25 hrs/week | Pay: Hourly (based on experience & credentials)

Job Summary

Suewong McFadden Academy (SMA), a non-profit educational enrichment microschool, is seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Coach to lead instruction for our Grades 3–5 students in a multi-age, small group environment. The Learning Coach will deliver standards-aligned lessons in Reading, Math, Language, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), while fostering an inclusive, hands-on, and student-centered classroom culture.

This is a part-time, instructional role ideal for a certified educator or skilled teaching professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a low-ratio classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction in ELA (Reading & Language), Math, and SEL
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of 3rd–5th grade students in a combined class setting
  • Incorporate project-based learning, visuals, manipulatives, and culturally responsive materials
  • Track academic progress and implement formative assessments aligned to grade-level standards
  • Create a warm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with instructional assistants, admin, and enrichment providers
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and learning goals
  • Support enrichment integration (e.g., field trips, STEAM projects, cultural celebrations)

Qualifications

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate OR 3+ years of formal classroom teaching experience
  • Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
  • Experience with multi-age, small group, or alternative learning environments preferred
  • Ability to integrate SEL and real-world skill-building into core instruction
  • Passion for serving diverse learners and building meaningful relationships with students
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card (required or willingness to obtain)
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to complete upon hire)
