POSITION OVERVIEW:

Cross Valley Health & Medicine is an independently owned multi-speciality internal and addiction medicine practice to New York State residents over the age of 18. We are seeking an eccentric certified medical assistant to work closely with our practitioners. The applicant will assist our practitioners in delivering daily high quality healthcare to our patients at our Newburgh office. The desirable certified medical assistant must also have a high attention to detail. We are a growing practice, and we would like you to grow with us!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Completes the patient rooming process by recording vital signs, performing EKGs and other routine medical procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Records relevant patient data into our EHR system. Documents the reason for each encounter
• Prepares the examination room before and after each encounter by ensuring the room is stocked, sterilized and in good working order
• Prepares the daily provider schedule for assigned provider and assists with the provider’s patient flow
• Collects, tracks and process laboratory specimens
• Perform basic clerical work in the reception area such as answering phones, communicate questions to providers, generate bloodwork scripts, generate referrals and address assigned correspondences via fax, mail or electronic messages
• Other duties as assigned and applicable to the nature of a certified medical assistant

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Minimum High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Licensure: None required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of related medical assisting experience. Primary Care experience is preferred
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant required
• Language: Bilingual in Spanish required
• Other: Must have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
