Certified Medical Assistant (Pediatrics)

Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our pediatric healthcare team. We are growing quickly and looking to expand our practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pediatric patient care and possess the necessary skills to assist our provider(s) in providing high-quality healthcare services for our young patients. Prior pediatric experience is a plus, but not required. If no prior pediatric experience, please explain why you would enjoy working with children in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

- Room patients

- Administer immunizations

- Document and take pediatric vitals, including but not limited to: BP, O2, temperature, HR, RR

- Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures in house, such as rapid COVID, strep, flu, urinalysis, and more

- Allergy injections, and administering medications as prescribed by the provider

- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations

- Ensure medical supplies, exam rooms and sanitized and cleaned, and equipment is properly sterilized

- Provide patient education on treatments and procedures

- Assist provider in reviewing and documenting patient lab, diagnostic, radiology results, and more.

- Handle prior authorizations

Requirements

- Certification as a Medical Assistant (RMA or CMA)

- Understanding of KYIR (Kentucky Immunization Registry) and VFC (Vaccines For Children)

- Passion for working with children of all ages (0-21)

- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of primary care medical procedures

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
