  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Some welding inspectors may perform or oversee non-destructive testing methods like radiography, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye penetrant testing to assess weld quality further.
  • Welding Procedure Review: They review welding procedures and qualifications to ensure they align with the project's requirements and standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring that safety protocols are followed during welding operations is essential to protect both the welders and the work environment.

JOB DETAILS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Problem-Solving: Being able to identify and troubleshoot welding-related issues is valuable.
  • Certifications: Many welding inspector positions require certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or CSWIP (Certification Scheme for Welding and Inspection Personnel).
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to enforce safety standards is vital.
  • Analytical Skills: Evaluating welding data and test results may require analytical capabilities.
