Job Summary
Circulation Assistants serve as the friendly face of the library and provide outstanding service to patrons at the Circulation Desk and in other public areas. In this role, you will:

• Check materials in and out, process library card applications, and accept payment for copies and lost or damaged materials.
• Help with meeting room reservations and patron information requests.
• Shelve materials in a timely and accurate fashion and help patrons find items on the shelves.
• Assist with use of library tools like public computers, printers / copiers, and the library catalog and website.
• Depending on interest and aptitude, you may also create signs and displays, help with library programs and activities, or perform office tasks like billing and labeling..

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; at least some college a plus.
• Ability to perform basic math, alphabetize, and follow instructions.
• Basic proficiency with computers, the internet, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Previous library, retail, restaurant, or other public service experience.
• Pleasant and welcoming demeanor;ability to communicate effectively with patrons and coworkers of all ages and backgrounds.
• Love and knowledge of books is a plus.
• Clean criminal background check is required.

Schedule

This is a part-time position. Must be available to work the below schedule:

• Tuesdays 8:45 am – 1:30 pm
• Wednesdays 12:30 pm – 5:15 pm
• Thursdays 3:00 pm – 7:45 pm
• Fridays 12:30 pm – 5:15 pm
• 1-2 Saturdays per month 8:45 – 5:15

Occasional substitutions or trades may be available

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 19 – 26.5 per week
