Full job description
Position Overview:
Provides administrative support to our educational services division.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Answer phones and take messages. Enter student data in the database. Contact applicants and parents to schedule meetings and/or obtain information. Assists the program staff with setup and takedown of workshops and meetings. Assists with new hire onboarding and personnel files. Assist with bank transactions and allocations and process travel requests. Order meals and supplies for workshops and programming. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Experience/Education Requirements:
One year of relevant work experience is required. Clerical or administrative experience is strongly preferred. (Thirty (30) college hours can be substituted for work experience.)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work independently to organize, set priorities, and meet deadlines with general supervision. Ability to establish and maintain relationships students, parents and school staff. Evidence of strong organizational and professional skills. Must possess proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar platforms). Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands:
The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work-related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers, and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
