Job Title: Resident Care Associate / Medication Technician (Med Tech)
Department: Resident Care
Reports To: Executive Director
Summary
The Resident Care Associate/Med Tech provides superior quality care to all residents by supporting activities of daily living such as personal care, nutrition, ambulation, housekeeping, and medication management. This role involves emergency care provision, maintaining detailed health records for residents, and adhering to confidentiality and safety guidelines.
Core Responsibilities
- Resident Support: Ensures constant availability to residents, monitoring their whereabouts and providing emotional support, social interaction, and assistance with daily activities.
- Medication Management: Assists with the self-administration of medication according to guidelines, maintains medication observation records, and ensures accurate documentation of health records.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keeps accurate and timely records of residents’ health, reports incidents, and maintains confidentiality in accordance with state laws and organizational policies.
- Safety and Security: Manages emergency responses, adheres to infection control and safety procedures, and promotes a safe work environment.

- Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-3 months related experience or training.
- Certifications: Certified Medication Technician with active credentials. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
- Skills: Strong reading, writing, and presentation skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Physical Demands and Work Environment: The role requires regular standing, walking, and use of hands and arms. It may occasionally involve sitting, climbing, or balancing, and requires lifting up to 25 pounds regularly, with the ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance. The work environment involves moderate noise levels and potential exposure to wet, humid conditions, and mechanical parts.
Additional Information
Previous experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, nursing, or assisted living environments is desirable. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and a sincere appreciation for the elderly.
