CNC Screw Machine Operator

Kai USA, the manufacturer of Kershaw Knives and Zero Tolerance Knives in Tualatin, Oregon. We have have an immediate need for CNC Screw Machine Operator.

Day Shift: Monday-Thursday 6 AM - 4:30 PM. $20-$23 depending on experience.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties Summary:

In a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the CNC Screw Machine Operator will be responsible for:

• Operate computer numerical controlled multi axis screw machines
• Run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs.
• Operate assigned machines, make set-ups, compute machine speed and feeds.
• Cycle machines detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Load and unload parts for machining.
• Use tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect machined parts, and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
• Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The qualified employee will have a high school diploma/GED and 1 to 2 years of related experience operating a CNC multi axis screw machines or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education could include completing manufacturing technologies (CNC) community college course.

• 1 to 2 years of related experience operating a CNC multi axis screw machines or combination of other similar machining disciplines.
• Proficient in the use of handheld measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing prints is preferred.
• Prefer experience with interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and other specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret computer generated work orders.
• Ability to make necessary mathematical computations as required per assignment.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
