Systems West Engineers | Commissioning Project Manager (Springfield, OR)

Systems West Engineers is seeking a Commissioning Project Manager (Cx PM) to join our consulting engineering firm.

We are a team of skilled engineers, designers, and technicians, who are also bicycle commuters, photographers, volunteers, DIY fanatics, gardeners, skiers, hikers, and experimenters. As both colleagues and friends, we enjoy working together to bring enthusiasm and a team-oriented focus on each strategically selected project.

Our team is looking for a dynamic Cx PM who will focus primarily on serving clients that are most often universities, healthcare systems, municipalities, and government agencies. These projects are often complex and critical environments. High-quality commissioning is essential to the overall optimization and performance of these building systems as well as providing maintainable and sustainable facilities to our clients.

The right-fit Cx PM is capable of leading and steering the commissioning process from proposal to closeout. To execute this successfully, the candidate has access to a team of resources including commissioning technicians, subject matter experts, engineers, and administrative staff. In addition to leading projects, this role will be a technical mentor for team members.

Candidates who excel in this role naturally seek opportunities to build relationships, value team collaboration and effective project execution, and enjoy balancing office to field work.

Key responsibilities will include performing design reviews, developing commissioning specifications, supervising construction inspections and field investigations, conducting commissioning meetings and functional performance testing, tracking and resolving commissioning-related issues, and developing training documentation and system operation manuals.

This position requires broad system knowledge and experience in the following:

· HVAC Systems

· Lighting

· Standby Power

· Security/Access Control

· Audio-Visual Systems

· Plumbing Systems

· Laboratories

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

· 4-8 years of engineering, installation, startup, and testing of building mechanical and electrical systems.

· Mechanical or Electrical Professional Engineering (PE) registration.

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

· Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

· Desire to lead a team and grow leadership skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Building Commissioning Certification(s) (i.e. CCP, BCxP).

· Prior experience managing commissioning projects.

And, previous experience with the following:

· Commissioning processes

· Design and implementation of sustainable construction practices

· Existing building operations, and operation and maintenance protocols and procedures

· A variety of facility types (e.g., K-12 schools, higher education, government office buildings, laboratories, medical facilities, data/communication centers, sports facilities, aquatic centers, central plants)

· Experience performing design reviews that identify design concepts and provide technical review of mechanical and/or electrical systems with a focus on conformance to the Owner’s Project Requirements, energy efficiency, construction, and sustainability

This is a full time, exempt position. Competitive salary starting at $110,000, range DOE. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan with company contributions and company performance bonus.
