Systems West Engineers (SWE) is hiring a Commissioning Provider to join our Springfield, Oregon team.

Why this role?
As a Commissioning Provider at SWE, you will support the planning, testing, and verification of building systems to ensure they operate as designed. Working side by side with experienced engineers, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to a variety of projects, from healthcare and higher education to research labs and civic facilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into details, learning quickly, and bringing clarity to complex systems.
In addition, you’ll:
- Ensure building systems perform as intended through design reviews, site inspections, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Lead functional performance testing and resolve system issues in the field.
- Develop training documentation, system manuals, and reports that directly support building owners and operators.
- Build and maintain client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor.
- Support project managers in planning and execution, with the opportunity to step into project management responsibilities as you grow.
- Contribute to SWE’s standards and innovation in commissioning, ensuring we continually elevate our work.

Minimum Qualifications to be considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
- Strong interest in technical and troubleshooting skills in mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC; centralized plants, labs, healthcare).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and build trusted relationships.
- Detail orientation, self-starter mindset, and willingness to learn and grow.
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Competitive salary starting at $75,000, DOE. Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, 401k with employer contribution, and bonus eligibility.

Position Location
This position reports to our primary office located in Springfield, Oregon. The candidate will be expected to reside within a reasonable local location to accommodate consistent in-office participation. Additionally, flexible hybrid schedules are commonplace and accommodated for most positions. At Systems West, hybrid means you live locally and have the option to work from home.
