Position Summary:

We're seeking a dynamic and creative Community Development Coordinator to join the newly formed Holly Springs Downtown Alive on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and executing vibrant events and entertainment initiatives in our small downtown area of Holly Springs, NC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between the board, local businesses, and the Holly Springs community to foster collaboration and support for downtown initiatives
  • Assist in brainstorming and developing innovative event concepts
  • Coordinate with members, local businesses, artists, and vendors to organize diverse activities
  • Coordinate and assist with event logistics, including scheduling, permits, and equipment rentals
  • Assist in the creation and distribution promotional materials for upcoming events
  • Provide oversight on event setup, execution, and breakdown
  • Monitor event budgets and expenses using QuickBooks
  • Collect and analyze post-event feedback for continuous improvement
  • Manage social media accounts to promote events and engage with the community
  • Maintain a calendar of downtown events and activities
  • Attend board meetings and provide regular updates on event planning progress

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination (2+ Years Minimum)
  • Previous experience working with a non-profit preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and social media platforms
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar products for budget management and reporting
  • Social media management skills
  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Knowledge of local community and passion for downtown vibrancy
  • Ideal Candidate will have strong ties to the Town of Holly Springs, NC

Hours and Compensation:

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20-25 hours per week, with potential for increased hours during peak event seasons. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Schedule:

  • Evenings as needed
  • Weekends as needed
