Job Title: Non-Medical Transportation Driver

Location: North Bethesda, Maryland

Start Date: June 2025

About Us:

We are , a trusted non-medical transportation provider dedicated to serving clients with unique needs, including individuals requiring mobility assistance or transportation to and from medical appointments, and any life event. At Kurbsy, we believe accessibility should be the standard — not the exception. Every ride we give is a stand against broken systems and second-rate service. We’re not in the transportation business; we’re in the business of dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Position Overview:

While the primary function of this role is that of a driver, we aren’t just looking for any driver, because as a Kurbsy team member, you are more than a driver–you are a lifeline. You’re the first smile, the steady hand, and the calm voice for riders who rely on us to navigate the world safely and with respect. You don’t just get people from point A to B. You are seeking to unlock the potential our riders have for a greater quality of life, knowing that transportation is no longer a barrier to accessing the appointments and events necessary for enriching their lives.

This is a job for someone who wants to do meaningful work alongside a growing team. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, thrives on building trust with clients, and consistently demonstrates a commitment to safety, reliability, and respect. Your role will be critical in ensuring our clients receive not just transportation, but a positive and empowering experience.

Responsibilities:

Drive with precision.

  • Provide on-time, door-to-door transportation for passengers with medical or mobility needs.
  • Drive with mastery and defensive safety, treating each trip like someone’s life depends on it — because sometimes, it does.
  • Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and act quickly and with good judgement when problems arise.
  • Load and secure passengers and equipment with professionalism, patience, and care.
  • Safely transport clients to and from appointments, treatments, and other destinations within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Serve with compassion.

  • Assist passengers from door-to-destination while protecting their comfort, privacy, and independence.
  • Remain alert to medical or emotional needs; use your CPR, Basic Life Support, and First Aid training to respond with confidence.
  • Treat every rider like family — and every interaction like it matters.

Communicate like a pro.

  • Keep flawless records of trips, incidents, and maintenance.
  • Stay in touch with dispatch and respond to changes with flexibility and urgency.
  • Represent Kurbsy with pride — in words, attitude, and action.
  • Proactively manage schedules to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs, communicating effectively if delays arise.

Improve relentlessly.

  • Stay current on required certifications — and pursue mastery beyond the minimum.
  • Learn from every ride, every rider, and every challenge.
  • Show up like an owner and step up when it counts.
  • Use problem-solving skills to navigate unforeseen challenges, such as route changes or client needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate mobility equipment
  • Comfortable using smartphone apps and digital records
  • Clear background check and drug screening
  • Familiarity with the Washington, DC metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
  • Punctual, reliable, and highly organized.

Additional Qualifications–Preferred, not Required:

  • Certification in First Aid, CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) is strongly preferred, reflecting a commitment to client safety and preparedness.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wage and opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive paid training to ensure your success and growth within the team.
