Job Overview
The Compliance Officeris responsible for oversight of WNYICC’s Compliance and Health Information Security Programs. As the Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company operates within legal and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance programs to prevent and detect violations of rules and regulations.

  • This is a hybrid position with remote work and occasional in-person meetings or events in the Western New York/ Buffalo/ Niagara region.
  • Position reports to Chief Executive Officer

Responsibilities

  • As Compliance Officer for organization, oversees risk management initiatives and ensures policies and procedures are consistently followed maintaining a safe and productive environment for staff, members and program participants.
  • Implement and manage compliance programs to prevent violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations affecting the industry
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with various departments to address compliance issues and provide guidance on regulatory matters
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for employees, Board, and partners on compliance-related topics
  • Conducts audits of WNYICC’s electronic health record for accuracy.
  • Conducts billing audits to ensure business health and prevent losses due to inaccurate claims submissions.
  • Oversees WNYICC’s development of our HITRUST Certification.
  • Provides support for Compliance Committee.
  • Manages relationships both internally and externally, supporting WNYICC and organizational goals.
  • Communicates in a positive manner both internally and externally to partners.
  • Prioritizes excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Assists WNYICC Team in a wide array of responsibilities.
  • Provide accountability and reporting for WNYICC compliance program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or related field
  • Proven experience working in compliance management
  • Knowledge of financial software and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with securities law, fraud prevention detection, GAAS, HIPAA, regulations
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following certification requirements: HI-TRUST, SOC2, ISO27000
  • Strong understanding of internal audits and risk assessment processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
