Full job description
Flight Works, Inc. is a growing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) of advanced components and systems for aerospace, medical, and other applications. We are seeking a dynamic, results-focused, hands-on product/process engineer to join our expanding development and manufacturing team. The position provides the opportunity for exposure to many technologies in a fast-paced environment, where the engineer will be involved in all aspects of the product development cycle, from concept definition to testing and validation.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the product/process engineer is to coordinate between the design, manufacturing and test teams to support product development, qualification and production. This also includes coordinating with external vendors/suppliers; maintaining, complying with and improving engineering and quality processes and procedures; leading product configuration management; and preparing, planning and coordinating training across the technical teams.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience with solid modeling, FEM and CAM software (SolidWorks, UG, etc.), drawing generation, and GD&T (general dimensioning and tolerancing).
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, fluid, and electrical components, including manufacturing
- Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to handle concurrent tasks, and passionate about taking ownership of and coordinating product development and delivery.
- Able to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with machinists, technicians, vendors and engineers.
- “US Person” eligible to receive technical data controlled under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with training material development and delivery
- Experience with design, manufacturing and testing of components during development, qualification and production
- Hands on lathe and mill experience (CNC or manual)
- Experience with quality processes, such as ISO 9001/AS 9100
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
We are seeking someone with 0-2 years of experience but will consider more senior engineers with relevant experience and exceptional aptitudes.
