Position Summary
We are seeking a Construction Inspector with 4+ years’ experience to work on the management of large NJTA construction projects. The Construction Inspector will work with the Project Team in both an office and field environment to coordinate the development and construction of safe and quality projects. The Construction Inspector should not only be a great Inspector, he or she should also be an effective communicator and team player.

We’re seeking someone with a strong desire to play a versatile role within a fast-growing company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contractor oversight, detailed inspection & other construction activities as necessary, including field measurement & collection of data necessary to submit monthly & final estimates and progress reports, and preparation of record plans showing all changes from the contract plans.
  • Proactively monitor construction and manage project scope, schedule, budget and quality.
  • Review and manage project submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications.
  • Comply with safety procedures/policies
  • Support the Quality personnel and the project through the Quality Management System.
  • Establish excellent working and professional relationships with the Clients, their Representatives and Contractors.
  • Support Project Manager/Resident Engineer in all daily construction operations.
  • Proactively monitor construction to determine whether it’s completed timely and monitor contract progress by evaluating the adequacy of the Contractor’s personnel, equipment and availability of materials and supplies.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Maintain ongoing internal communication with the Enovate Project Management team.
  • Ability to travel to projects in New York City and New Jersey.
  • Ability to identify potential conflicts and issues.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • NICET I, II, III, or IV certification a must, especially if no Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4 or more years of experience or equivalent.
  • Experience on NJ Turnpike and NJDOT projects a must.
  • ACI Grade 1 Technician, NJSAT, and Rutgers TCC certifications a must.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.
  • Have a solid time management system and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of estimating, engineering, cost tracking systems and site surveying.
  • Uncompromising integrity.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD software.

Pay: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
