Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette Overview
Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical Christian organization whose mission is to eliminate substandard housing worldwide. Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette was founded in 1984, and has since built more than 340 homes in the Lafayette (IN) area. Habitat provides affordable homeownership to low-income families by utilizing volunteer labor and in-kind and monetary donations to build each house in partnership with families in the Habitat program.

Construction Site Supervisor Overview
The purpose of the Construction Site Supervisor is to complete all construction-related activities for the home building of Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette. Site Supervisors are responsible for managing diverse groups of volunteers with varying degrees of construction skill on the build site each day and ensuring the correct and safe completion of home building. Site supervisors are also responsible for working with the Construction Manager and Land and Property Manager to complete all aspects of the building process from site preparation, scheduling of professional mechanical work, and passing of all required inspections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Determine and prepare tools and materials necessary for each build day; work with Construction VP to procure necessary materials
Greet and orient new volunteers on the build site each day; explain expectations, ensure safety, and teach skills necessary to complete construction
Maintain knowledge of building code, safety standards, and required safety certifications through Habitat for
Humanity International and the City of Lafayette
Complete construction progress required when volunteer groups are not scheduled
Communicate with partner family receiving house about site maintenance expectations daily
Schedule all necessary inspections
Work with Construction VP to ensure site preparation, scheduling of mechanicals for each build

Qualifications
Passion for Christian-based ministry and servant leadership
Previous experience in and knowledge of residential construction process
Ability to work with and instruct diverse groups of people with varying degrees of construction skill
Basic computer skills

Working Conditions
Ability and willingness to make phone calls and in-person visits to external contacts.
Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) at least 75% of the time
Willingness to work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule consistently

Physical Conditions
Ability to work in an outdoor construction site
Ability to operate construction trucks and pull/maneuver trailers; ability to operate heavy machinery preferred
Ability to traverse a typical construction site, which may include reaching overhead, climbing, lifting and carrying loads of minimum 50lb
