Position Overview:

The Consumption Lounge Supervisor is a first-of-its-kind position in New Jersey. The ideal candidate has extensive hospitality and/or cannabis retail experience with a passion for nightlife. The Lounge Supervisor will create a smooth and efficient flow for the day-to-day operations. This includes managing a small team, developing public and private events, and ensuring a safe and quality experience for all. This role is designed for someone who is committed to building something new and extravagant for the New Jersey cannabis market, the Atlantic City community, and beyond.

SunnyTien’s Consumption Lounge will feature barstools, chairs, and booths, seating up to 45 guests. We will offer a variety of accessories for consuming all product types, while providing proper education behind every product and method of consumption. The Lounge will be more than a place to smoke cannabis. It is an experience, a haven, a dream. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct daily lounge operations working in collaboration with dispensary and inventory departments to ensure seamless guest and employee experiences.
  • Schedule parties and take reservations ensuring proper and consistent flow within the lounge environment from guest arrival to departure; address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Educate staff members on proper demonstration of cannabis consumption and safety to translate to customers effectively. Provide coaching, feedback and development opportunities that drive a culture of high performance.
  • Working closely with guests in curating experiences for private/public events and providing a quality and safe experience while ensuring compliance with NJCRC regulations.
  • Act as a role model for the team, showcasing excellent work ethic, guest-first mentality, and consistent adherence to service standards.
  • Assists in all cash handling functions including POS system, registers and daily reports.
  • Overseeing a staff of 2-4 employees, along with 40-50 guests in the lounge.
  • Maintaining a positive, clean and safe environment for both guests and employees.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to supervise, communicate and interact with staff, including but not limited to assigning duties amongst employees, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action when needed.
  • - considers and responds appropriately to the needs, emotions and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations; may deal with people who are difficult, hostile, or distressed.
  • Preferred at least two (2) years experience in a hospitality role.
  • Preferred at least one (1) year experience in the cannabis industry, including proficient knowledge of cannabis, cannabis consumption and NJ cannabis laws.
  • Proficient with POS Systems and electronic devices.
  • Basic knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
  • Must be organized, initiative-taking, and proactive with strong attention to detail. This role is designed for creative, solution-based individuals who enjoy a challenge in an ever changing environment.

Work Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma, GED Certification or Equivalent required.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.
  • While performing duties on this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to potential allergens like dust, smoke, cleaning chemicals, etc.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours). Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • The work environment may experience levels of loud noise due to music, entertainment, customer conversations, etc.
  • Must be able to work a varying schedule. Must be able to work nights, weekends and most holidays.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift 50 pounds.

Compensation, Benefits, and Other Employee Information:

  • Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday from 2:30-10:30pm
  • Annual Salary: $55,000
  • Employee Discounts on all products, accessories, and merchandise
  • Paid Time Off: 10 Days per calendar year
  • Additional compensation for bilingual or polyglots
