Content Producer
RFD-TV – Nashville, TN
We’re looking for someone with experience in television news or agriculture communications and if you have both, that’s an absolute plus!
If you’re an agriculture enthusiast, you should have a strong knowledge of agribusiness, ag policy and other rural-based issues. You should also be familiar with or be a past member of the National FFA Organization and understand how it’s shaping the future of the industry.
If you’re a television news producer, you should be able to deliver a well-structured and fast-paced program while staying true to an editorial mission. You should also routinely and effortlessly ensure that all content is delivered on time, at the highest standards and in compliance with all relevant technical and legal standards.
Key Duties:
- Oversee on-air execution of program, including story selection and organization, scripts, video and graphics
- Ensure that program is produced at the highest possible standards, with stellar editorial and production
- Oversee all aspects of program pre-production, including advance planning and booking of guests (in concert with Segment Producers)
- Collaborate with editorial leadership to ensure that each program is a reflection of the mission, values and editorial strategy of RFD-TV
- RFD-TV's digital strategy is also important to our broadcast product. You should be able to take stories created for broadcast and tailor them to web, app and social media audiences
- Demonstrate exceptional people and communication skills - as you are a bona fide ambassador of RFD-TV
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in news broadcast or agriculture communications
- Broad and current knowledge of agriculture, the commodity markets and rural lifestyle is essential
- Strong knowledge of ENPS; knowledge of non-linear desktop video production systems a plus
- Knowledge of CMS and social media programs and strategies a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Journalism/Communications or other related fields a plus
- Must be a multi-tasker who can perform well under deadline pressure and successfully meet deadlines
- Must exhibit high standards of accuracy and fairness
About RFD-TV
RFD-TV is the only program service in the United States devoted entirely to serving a rural television audience. The network is available in roughly 30 million homes. RFD-TV produces 27 ½ hours of news programming each week, in addition to countless special programs.
The RFD-TV program lineup is a mix of news, entertainment, rural lifestyle and equine programming tailored to the unique appetites of the network’s loyal constituency.
The network is presently building out new state-of-the-art production facilities and offices in Nashville’s famed Music Row.
