Independent Contractor Therapist Position
About Us
Josh Curie & Associates Therapy is a small but robust private practice that was established in 2019 and is located in Ferndale, MI. Our Clinical Director is a 2023 recipient of the Oakland County 40 Under 40 Award for excellence in advancing and promoting competent and inclusive mental health care services in the region.
While we as clinicians may have different niche areas of focus, we are dedicated to our mission of providing high quality mental health treatment to people across the lifespan.
Three uniting principles that we hold include:
-Providing access to care across socioeconomic status by paneling with a number of Medicaid programs and offering sliding fee spots. Each year, approximately 35% of our services are rendered to individuals receiving Medicaid or reduced fee services.
-Making space for and serving historically marginalized populations, especially but not limited to LGBTQ+ folks and persons of color.
- Keeping clinician caseloads reasonable and manageable to help avoid burnout and overwhelm. As a practice, we value quality interactions and outcomes over quantity of sessions.
Perks of working for Josh Curie & Associates Therapy
-A strong commitment to social justice and inclusive practices both in terms of serving clients and making space for clinicians who come from minority or underrepresented backgrounds. We are LGBTQ affirming and value antiracist practices and healing.
-Unlike some other practices that expect a high-volume caseload, this position is suitable for individuals who are either looking for part-time work or who wish to carry a larger caseload. The expectation is an average of 15 clients per week once a caseload is established but beyond that, it is up to you how many clients you would like to see. You can always scale up or scale back down depending on what works best for you.
-This position is hybrid or fully-remote and clinicians are fully in control of their schedule and availability
-Operate from an abundance mentality, meaning there is enough work and space for therapists and clinicians and so no non-compete is in place.
-Credentialing and billing completed by owner, allowing you to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time adhering to client needs and concerns
Josh Curie Therapy Offers
- $60 per clinical session, with biweekly payouts. You no longer need to wait on reimbursements from insurance companies to get paid or struggle to understand reimbursements to know how much you will actually be taking home. By having a flat rate, you get paid the same independent of insurance type, so you do not have to prioritize some insurances over others. Additionally, you get paid for no-show or late cancellation appointments for anyone with commercial insurances.
- Financial support for continuing education credits (CE’s)
- Continuation bonuses for successful completion of contractual terms and signing on for another contract
- Set your own schedule and book your own appointments, with a minimum of 15 hours per week of scheduled clients
- Steady Referrals
- Practice Development/Marketing Assistance

- Robust Electronic Medical Record and Billing System
