Line Cook - Role & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
  • Prepare and serve meals that are palatable & appetizing in appearance.
  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
  • Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
  • Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diets.
  • Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with resident's meal service.
  • Assist in serving meals, as necessary and on a timely basis.
  • Assist with food preparation for special events, holidays etc. as directed.

Cook - Requirements:

  • One year of dietary experience in long term care setting or in the hospitality industry, or restaurant/culinary experience preferred.
  • Must possess a high school education, prefer graduate.
