CO+HOOTS is designed to help people and businesses thrive. CO+HOOTS opened a second location in downtown Mesa in June 2022. CO+HOOTS partnered with Benedictine University at Mesa to create the CO+HOOTS Institute for Entrepreneurship program.

​​​​​​About CO+HOOTS Institute for Entrepreneurship: CO+HOOTS and Benedictine University at Mesa have partnered to develop an intensive entrepreneur immersion program that will nurture, improve and accelerate Benedictine University students’ entrepreneurial traits and skills. Students will learn through parallel educational pathways: the theoretical learning provided by Benedictine University Mesa will happen in the classroom and through CO+HOOTS, they will put those theories in action while being surrounded and supported by established entrepreneur leaders.

Job Purpose: Reporting to the CEO, the Community and Program Coordinator (CPC) is responsible for important duties that will ensure the CO+HOOTS Institute program and its student participants are successful semester by semester, year by year. This is a part-entrepreneurial and part-operational position as the CPC is expected to not only follow through with the Institute curriculum, but be agile and intuitive enough to adjust it as needed to provide the optimal experience for Institute students. Acting as a guide, the CPC will meet with students individually and as a group to track student progress and experience. The CPC will schedule speakers and workshops for the students based on the curriculum and connect students to internship and mentorship opportunities. These opportunities will mostly come through collaborations with established companies and entrepreneurs within the CO+HOOTS membership community. The CPC will also ideate, plan, schedule and execute a myriad of events that will benefit the students’ entrepreneurial goals.

This position will also be responsible for CO+HOOTS Coworking’s front desk management and space needs, membership sales and sales marketing, and day-to-day facility management at our downtown Mesa location. The CPC will strategize, organize and execute in-person member events that will engage the membership community, help members connect with each other and help members’ personal and professional development.

The CPC is one of the first friendly faces anyone encounters upon entering our building and a support person for our membership community. You have to enjoy talking to people and growing authentic relationships.

To be an excellent CPC, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams, highly driven, accustomed to speaking in public and have experience in entrepreneurship and program development.

In addition, the CPC will work collaboratively with our marketing associate to build creative social media content. Hospitality and operational obsessiveness is this position’s key attribute. Excellent communication skills in-person, virtually and digitally are a must.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Schedule meetings and events based on CO+HOOTS Institute program curriculum.
  • Communicate with Institute students to measure their progress on tasks and projects.
  • Strategize, organize and execute events that will benefit the Institute students' entrepreneurial goals.
  • Manage front desk, administrative and operational duties as needed.
  • Strategize, organize and execute in-person member events with the goal of increasing participation, membership growth and member retention.
  • Strategize and grow membership sales and event sales, including answering email inquiries, be responsible for external sales growth, internal communication, member communications.
  • Engage with and help build positive relationships within the team and membership community.
  • Give fantastic tours of our space and obtain new members for our awesome community.
  • Track and follow sales processes.
  • Strategize community engagement activities.
  • Follow, improve upon and add operational processes.
  • Responsible for the proper opening/closing duties, light cleaning around the space throughout the day.
  • Responsible for space organization for offices, events, storage and as needed.
  • Support other team members’ roles and responsibilities.
  • Onboarding new coworking members and offboarding cancelations.
  • Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations of the space (video conferencing, presentations etc.).
  • Ensuring the implementation of the values of our community as well as policies and practices.
  • Maintaining facilities and events budget and tracking expenditures/transactions.

Working Environment:

  • Ensure the office/coworking space is consistently maintained, kept clean and orderly. This may include setting up for events, moving furniture, light cleaning when necessary.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Communicate regularly between CEO, other full-time staff members, interns, contractors and any part time staff to perform essential functions.
  • Walk throughout space for meetings or events.
  • Perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages and/or ratios.
  • Read a variety of manuals; write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Work experience in hospitality and customer service fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Days and Schedule:

Full Time. 40 hours/week base schedule. Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, excluding some holidays. Includes evenings from time to time and some Saturdays.

Salary:

COVID-19 considerations:
It is optional for team members to wear a mask at front desk and while walking through the building. Masks are optional for coworking members and clients. Clean and disinfecting happens throughout day and four nights per week.
