Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Site Supervisor to oversee construction projects and ensure their successful completion within a trainee crew environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction management, budgeting, project scheduling, and supervisory skills.

ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission of environmental stewardship, job skill training and poverty relief. ReSOURCE is a founding member of the Serve Learn Earn workforce development collation and works to promote state-wide service and training programs alongside Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, Vermont Works for Women, and Audubon VT. As the leading SLE partner on a flood rebuilding project in Central Vermont, ReSOURCE is partnering with the long-term recovery groups (LTRG’s), to assist community families to rebuild their homes after the 2023 and 2024 summer flooding.

The SLECC will consist of folks who have previously completed a SLE program and who are interested in the flood recovery effort and in enhancing their construction/carpentry skills. The Site Supervisor position will be responsible for the crew’s work quality, safety, and training.

This position is a 40 hour per week position and the compensation is $21-$23 per hour, depending on experience. The SLECC leader will be a full-time employee of ReSOURCE and be eligible for health care and benefits.

Location: This position will be based out of Barre, VT. All transportation to work sites will be provided.

Goal of Position

  • Guide and mentor SLECC members, create a positive crew culture, and provide opportunities for skill development.
  • Develop positive relationships with homeowner clients and ensure open and honest communication.
  • Maintain a safe and productive worksite.
  • Lead all construction, ensuring quality on-budget and timely work.
  • Provide job skills training in the areas of safety, tool use, carpentry, and work readiness.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to stand and bend throughout the work day.
  • Ability to walk up and down a flight of stairs regularly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily and up to 200 pounds occasionally using equipment.
  • Ability to safely use power, hand tools and operate equipment.
  • Ability to properly use personal and protective equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to supervise and teach others in a professional, friendly and direct way.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff in English.
  • Ability to and write clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to in public, at media events and represent the organization to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to learn new and innovative ways to help ReSOURCE, Serve Learn Earn, and Barre Up support its mission.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace, high energy environment.
  • Ability to arrive for work on time and maintain acceptable attendance.

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe worksite and ensure safety by following and enforcing all ReSource and OSHA safety policies and regulations.
  • Role model professionalism for crew members
  • Participate in ReSource, Serve Learn Earn and LTRG training.
  • Provides informal and formal feedback to crew members. Communicate with ReSOURCE staff on any human resource challenges.
  • Maintains professional standards of confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 or more years experience in the construction trades.
  • OSHA-10 Certification Preferred
  • NCCER Instructor Certification Preferred.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Experience teaching or training.
  • Commitment to ReSOURCE’s mission.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Team player with excellent communications skills and experience with collaborative decision making.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and accomplish goals.
  • Positive, cooperative team spirit.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
