Position Summary

The Crisis Clinical Support Lead will have flexible hours to meet the needs of the Crisis Center’s different shifts. The Crisis Clinical Support Lead will provide support and supervision to the Crisis Center Specialist, Volunteers and other crisis workers and be an integral part of Mental Health America – Wabash Valley Region (MHA-WVR) clinical team.

This is a direct service position designed to provide hands-on coaching and support with crisis support staff. In this role, the Crisis Clinical Support Lead is responsible for working directly with staff to ensure they are not negatively impacted by exposure to vicarious trauma. The role also provides education on various mental health and substance use behaviors to crisis workers. The Crisis Clinical Support Lead will be available for consultation during and following crisis calls as well as to fill in when back-up is needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

· Provide trauma informed clinical support to crisis specialist and crisis staff.
· Provide one on one supervision to staff as needed and ongoing.
· Provide in the moment support to crisis specialist and crisis staff.
· Provide education related to trends in crisis center calls and mental health/substance use topics.
· Provide support and supervision to Associate, Bachelors and Master’s level interns.
· Other duties within the clinical team as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

Education/Experience

· Master’s degree from an accredited or state approved program that meets criteria for licensing as a social worker, marriage and family therapist or Mental Health Counselor.
· Must be licensed and working towards clinical licensure. Licensed Social Worker is preferred.
· Experience working in crisis de-escalation and trauma informed environments.
· Ability to be flexible in unpredictable environments.
· Excellent de-escalation skills.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, creativity, flexibility, time management, and organizational skills.
· Must have the ability to manage and work through conflict in a calm manner.
· Ability to be an effective listener.
· Maintains all required licenses and certifications.
· Valid Indiana driver license and a driving record acceptable to the Organization’s insurance carrier.
· Ability to complete Crisis Specialist Training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Occasional driving to various work site locations.
· Frequent/continuous sitting with occasional, intermittent standing/walking.
· Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
· Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
· Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
·Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
· Continuous use of near vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
· Requires physical presence in the office.
· Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
