Full job description

Job Description: The Community Support Program (CSP) is a coalition of participants who use behavioral health services, family members, behavioral health professionals, and other community members who are working together to help adults with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders live successfully in the community. The CSP Program Facilitator cooperatively guides CSP initiatives and activities, involving stakeholders and developing the leadership capacity of members.

Responsibilities:

· Demonstrate sensitivity and empathy through respectful, non-judgmental communication.

· Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor in tone and work behavior.

· Facilitate Community Support Program meetings.

o Facilitate quarterly and monthly meetings with a dedicated topic related to mental, physical, or social health.

o Schedule training and presenters related to mental health, physical health, wellness, social determinants of health, and related topics.

o Conduct outreach to increase the number of participants at monthly meetings.

o Facilitate the use of electronic, phone, and in-person meeting options.

o Work with providers, community groups, and businesses to obtain sponsorship of quarterly meeting refreshments.

o Develop flyers and brochures for upcoming meetings for both Franklin and Fulton Counties.

o Work towards an average quarterly attendance of 45 individuals and track using a sign-in sheet.

o Coordinate outreach and networking related to quarterly Community Support Program Meetings with the Outreach Specialist.

o Document all outreach efforts utilizing appropriate documentation forms.

· Facilitate any volunteer activities

o Recruit, train, and, act as the point person for anyone volunteering for events, activities, etc.

o Adhere to the Volunteer Handbook

· Assist with facilitating the annual events

o Work with CSP participants to develop a theme for the annual event.

o Complete event management, including securing the space, developing registration materials, etc….

o Identify keynote and supporting speakers.

o Conduct outreach and networking to increase attendance.

o Recruit vendors related to the theme to set up displays during the event.

o Reach an attendance level of 120 participants.

· Attendance at Monthly Central Region CSP meetings and providing transportation from MHAFF to the CRCSP meeting for CSP Participants.

· Manage social media accounts:

o Develop posts related to all CSP events, meetings, activities.

o Share mental health, substance use, and social determinant of health-related information.

o Explore additional social media opportunities to increase awareness.

· Attend assigned community meetings including health fairs and expos as assigned.

· Provide data to the Community Support Program Manager weekly related to outreach efforts and meeting satisfaction survey data.

· Facilitate support groups as assigned by the Community Support Program Manager.

· Maintain cleanliness of office.

· Follow all MHAFF Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:

· Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder. Must meet state guidelines for serious mental illness adult priority group services either current or past.

· Highschool diploma or GED.

· Ability to make cold calls to individuals and groups.

· Ability to bring groups of people together to work towards a common cause.

· An ability to mentor participants in a recovery-oriented manner.

· Demonstrated facility with computer software, social media, and technology.

· Must have reliable transportation and agency accepted level of insurance.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Familiarity with, and commitment to, recovery-oriented systems of care.

· Ability to work independently in the community.

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· Successful completion of State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearances.

· Documented eligibility to work in the United States.

Hours:

· Non-exempt.

· 25 to 30 hours; 50 to 60 hours per pay period.

· Flexible Scheduling.

· Considerable amounts of time will be spent in the community

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
