Job Summary

As the newest location addition of Nutex Health, we are excited to announce the upcoming opening of West Little Rock. We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified CT/X-Ray Rad Tech to perform a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance to departmental procedures, policies and protocols. CT/X-Ray Rad Tech Positions patients on radiographic equipment and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.

Shifts Available: 12-hours;Day or NightShift

Position Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Certified by the State of Arkansas as a licensed Radiology Technologist and must
  • maintain current licensure
  • Be proficient in X-ray and CT modalities
  • Prior employment experience in an emergency department setting is preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Completes annual educational requirements
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Equipment - Prepares equipment ensuring that all equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards. Completes all quality checks and ensures equipment logs are maintained. Completes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic area is complete with necessary supplies required to perform the procedure.
  • Demonstrates competency in PACS process and performs daily QA requirements. Reports to physician and management immediately of any equipment malfunction. Must abide by radiation safety protocols and maintain records required to comply with state regulations
  • Patient Care / Testing - Actively participates with patient testing in performing urgent and emergent procedures/tests. Reviews the physician’s request to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and that the indication of the procedure is consistent with illness or injury.
  • Provides specific diagnostic test information to the patient ensuring that the patient is aware of diagnostic test. Ensures that patient orientation, patient preparation and patient teaching is provided prior, during and following the test completion. Position the patient for the test according to specific procedural protocol. Selects the specific equipment pre-sets and modifies the settings to ensure that optimal image is obtained. Completes the diagnostic examination according to specific procedural protocols. Completes processing diagnostic film, including supporting documentation logs, demographic and diagnostic information as required for patient record documentation. Assists with transportation of patients. Provide basic patient are when needed. Notifies physician, nurse or management immediately of any critical diagnostic findings, patient care issues or equipment malfunctions.
  • Communication - Communicates with patients, families, physicians, nurses and other departmental personnel in an accurate, courteous and professional manner.
  • Cleanliness - Participates in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility including but not limited to sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, parking lots and other areas as assigned. Maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Staff Development - Maintain current licensure. Participates in continuing education through training and educational programs. CT/Radiology Technologist will participate in monthly staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
