D.M. Bowman, Inc., is seeking a dynamic candidate to join our team as our Customer Service Representative! The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serve as a primary liaison between D.M. Bowman, Inc. and our customers. CSR’s ensure that D.M. Bowman, Inc. understands the customer requirements and expedites service that ultimately exceeds the customer’s expectations. This position would be full-time, working Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM working from our office location in Williamsport, MD. The CSR reports directly to the Terminal Manager.

Scope of Responsibility:

· Contact customers to secure outbound and inbound freight volumes

· Ensure customer service needs are achieved

· Back up dispatch – Provide driving personnel with complete work assignment including routing and directions

· Maintain complete and accurate documentation of freight order to include: Billing comments, pickup and delivery directions, special instructions for dispatch personnel

· Research and correct billing and A/R mistakes with Terminal manager and accounting

· Business process flow team compliance

· Documentation of Processes

· Proactive, rate confirmation Execution of forms/accessorial charges

· Data entry of relevant dispatch information

· Meet operational objectives (i.e. revenue per mile, empty mile ratio {deadhead}, revenue per day, target lanes objectives)

· Detailed data entry to ensure all transactions are traceable

· Participate in safety functions and company events

Skills and Experience:

  • 1-2 + years of customer interface/experience required
  • Prior Transportation/AS400 experience highly preferable


  • High School Education required
  • 1-2 years Undergraduate study preferred
