Data Quality Lead
Job Summary
Xendat is looking for a Data Quality Lead (Pharma/Healthcare) for a long-term contract role (C2C) with one of our clients. The position is remote.
The Data Quality Lead will provide leadership and applies broad expertise in Information Technology disciplines to provide a vital force in the growth and delivery of Enterprise Data Quality Program. In addition to team management and personnel development, this person is responsible to build trust and credibility with business and IT partners. These relationships, combined with business awareness and a value focus, enable the candidate to influence culture and leverage data assets to drive value.
- Build on strategy, vision, and roadmap for a data quality management framework
- Lead a world-class Data Quality team focused on delivering high quality data across the enterprise. Responsibilities include:
- Identify data quality rules across new initiatives as well as existing applications and datasets.
- Collaborate closely with Master Data and Data Enablement teams to drive the design of DQ checks for new implementations and upgrades
- Lead and drive the implementation of DQ dashboards across enterprise managed data products to identify data anomalies early.
- Conduct timely communication with key partners on data issues and develop tactical and strategic mitigation steps.
- Set up data quality monitoring processes and schedule regular ‘health check’ reviews for data product managers and owners
- Drive multi-functional efforts to improve quality of data, process efficiency, and effectiveness across the data ecosystem
- Develop and implement data quality rules for Critical Data Elements for various domains
- Participates in projects, being the data quality expert, to help identify the requirements around data quality and work with project level data quality resources to implement those.
- Works with business owners to define and establish definitions and strategies around data quality consistent with operational goals
- Collaborates with enterprise data governance teams, technical data leads, data analysts and IT areas to ensure data quality and availability and to explain the essence and importance of it.
- Act as the spokesperson for the importance of data quality and its application to successful business strategies
- Oversee the resolution of data quality issues across the enterprise and ensure it is addressed in a timely manner.
- Produce data quality metrics and KPIs across various data domains and data assets and measures progress around data quality.
- Identify automation opportunities in operational processes around data quality and works with IT and other teams to incorporate those.
Specific Responsibilities For This Role Include
Responsibilities
- Strong experience with data quality management principles around master data as well as transactional and 3rd party data, especially in financial/asset management context.
- Demonstrated passion and experience in building a strong data quality organization
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a automation mindset
- Experience with data quality tools (like EDQ, Atacama, IBM Information Analyzer etc.)
- Strong proficiency with SQL (data definition and data manipulation)
- Ability to automate data quality tasks with basic programming languages such as Python or similar
- Demonstrable ability to work in a matrixed organization, manage multiple projects, and be accountable for individual results
- Effective project management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on-budget project delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in data quality related roles
- Bachelors degree in field like Computer Science, Information technology, Math, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance (with focus on analysis).
- Strong collaboration and communications skills, ability to engage with others.
- Ability to resolve complex problems and break them down to create and implement an action plan.
- Ability to lead data related project activities.
- Self-Starter who can work in ambiguous situations and drive to a solution.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to advance multiple work streams concurrently.
- Proficient in authoring, editing, and presenting technical documents.
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, or computer engineering
- Solid understanding of Data Quality processes and principles, with the ability to effectively communicate and advocate those ideas to others.
- Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment.
- Requires strong decision-making, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical skills are required.
- Strong facilitation and negotiation skills are required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with competence in interfacing with business users required.
- Ability to summarize and present design alternatives.
- Significant experience in data requirements gathering and facilitation of business data definitions

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with related information management disciplines (e.g. data governance management, metadata management, master data management, reference data management,…)
- Experience with common Data Quality technologies and tools (IDQ, Atacama, Talend DQ,…).
- Experience with pharma or/and health care data
