CODE Plus, Inc., an IT government contractor, located in Fairfax, VA with offices in Huntsville, AL and Oak Ridge, TN have been in business for 29 years and have been servicing different agencies within the Federal sector. Currently seeking an experienced Data Science Systems Administrator who will develop, configure, monitor, and maintain a Linux-based Virtual Desktop Platform for 200+ data scientists and application developers. As a Data Science Systems Administrator, you’ll configure user accounts and desired state configurations, maintain the security posture of Virtual Desktop environments, and enhance the performance and health of these systems. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into Data Science, DevSecOps, and Cloud Architecture.

Must Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with Linux systems administration.
  • 3+ experience with source control tools, such as Git and Github.
  • Experience working within and alongside Data Science teams.
  • Experience with CI/CD Tools such as Github Actions, Unix command line shells, i.e. bash, Linux and Windows application package management software such as apt-get and winget, System monitoring tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Azure, including the az cli, Azure Host Pools, and Azure Compute Gallery.
  • Ability to Troubleshoot open-ended technical issues in custom software, Coordinate and work within larger-scale systems administration efforts across multiple technical teams and/or organizations, Maintain system compliance and accreditation paradigms.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Desired Experience with:

  • Experience with various Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RHEL, Arch, nix.os).
  • Experience with Windows system administration and PowerShell.
  • Experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with system state management tools, such as Ansible for Linux and Desired State Configuration (DSC) for Windows.
  • Experience with the Python and/or Rust programming languages.
  • Experience with writing user-facing technical documentation.
  • Experience identifying and resolving security advisories and applying vendor patches.
