The International Association of BBBs, Inc. (IABBB) (BBB.org) serves the 91 local Better Business Bureaus and their 160+ offices across the United States and Canada. IABBB oversees core programs such as BBB Accreditation, the BBB Code of Advertising, BBB.org—the flagship website with nearly 5.4 million Business Profiles, investigations, and consumer education. Interactive Blue (interactiveblue.com), wholly owned subsidiary of IABBB, software and database design organization providing integrated solutions to the Better Business Bureaus system. The IABBB seeks a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The Database Administrator collects, protects, and analyzes data by writing code, designing and maintaining databases. The DBA works both independently and as part of a larger team of IT professionals.
- Design and configure database objects
- Design, deploy and monitor database servers
- Apply database patches and minor upgrades during maintenance windows.
- Responsible for data integrity and availability
- Design data distribution and data archiving solutions
- Ensure database security, including backups & disaster recovery
- Write programming code to create database processes
- Performance tuning of existing jobs
- Developing complex SQL for use in ETL/ELT applications
- Developing/Modifying Microsoft SQL Server tables, procedures, and functions
- Developing/Modifying PostgreSQL tables, procedures, and functions
- Working and Partnering with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Application Developers to better understand data pipeline requirements
- Creating estimates for sprints to accurately reflect the effort required
- Unit testing SQL Code
- Lead server upgrade projects when newer versions are available.
- Routinely assesses security measures and advises team on flaw resolution
- Required to be on call in case of any emergencies or system failures
- Ongoing studies to keep skills current.
- Informing customers of changes to the databases
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of relevant experience
- 5 Years of SQL Experience. This experience can be with any ETL or database that supports ANSI compliant SQL
- 3-5 years experience performance tuning of SQL
- A balance of technical, business and communication skills
- Proficient in database management systems (DBMS) especially Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Experience with performing database platforms installations/upgrades
- Experience with deploying code and database DDLs using DevOps pipelines is preferred
- Experience using GitHub
- Experience using CloudWatch to monitor instance health
- Working in a remote environment outside a traditional office environment
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of AWS RDS database instances and classes
- Experience using AWS data and migrations services
- Experience with administering Microsoft SQL Server in a multi-cloud environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $123,000.00 per year
