Deburring Technician
Qualified Production & Development provides custom machining and manufacturing services to the semi-conductor and other industries. Our Hillsboro location provides contract manufacturing services for machining and assembly with cleanroom capabilities. We are ISO certified and meet additional quality standards as required by our customers.
POSITION SNAPSHOT
Our team is growing, and we are seeking a Deburring Technician to join our team. Under General Supervision of the Production Manager, the role's primary responsibility will be to finish, deburr and polish machined parts. Experience in manufacturing or other work or hobbies that require strong hand/eye coordination and attention to detail using hand held tools, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently are all qualities we are looking for in a candidate. Schedule:
- Day shift or swing shift (Mon-Thurs, 10 hour days). Shift differential pay for swing.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Deburr machined parts prior to polishing, by reading blueprints and using specified tools such as files, sandpaper, exacto knives, etc., to remove sharp edges and burrs.
- Polish specific finishes to parts using specified polishing tools such as a polishing lathe, sandpaper, Scotch brite, tec) to hand polish to blueprint specification.
- Use a profilometer to measure surface finishes.
- Clean and setup ultrasonic cleaning stations. Blow parts dry.
- Refurbish/restore customer returned product to "like new" condition.
- Bead blasting to deburr and remove sharp edges from parts.
- Handle parts carefully to protect from damage.
- Follow all safety and quality requirements.
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements
- 1-2 years experience in deburring/finishing manufactured parts; or strong experience in work or hobbies requiring related skills.
- Math skills including statistics, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 5 lbs and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
A temperature-controlled production shop floor environment requiring sitting/standing for extended periods of time; occasional lifting of up to 5-30 lbs.; occasionally crouching or bending at the knees. Exposure to dirt and dust. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, shields etc.) may be required. May operate moving equipment (forklift) as required to perform essential job functions. General office environment with exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated, and fast paced setting.
Workload may be unpredictable, and pressure increased during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable flexibility and adaptability. Disturbances of workflow and/or irregularities in work schedule may occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
