The Fruit Center Marketplace, the South Shore’s premier gourmet and specialty foods retailer, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic candidate to help support our deli department at our Hingham location.
As a member of The Fruit Center Marketplace deli team you, as part-time deli clerk, are required to work with management and all other team members to perform the following tasks:
- Provide superior customer service in all areas of the store, ensuring their needs are met in a timely fashion
- Waiting on customers including slicing, cutting, weighing, packaging, and pricing merchandise
- Maintain product quality, freshness, and ensure proper rotation of product
- Assist in preparation of food product while following department procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, and stocking of product
- Follow and comply with established health department and company sanitation procedures
- Assist in receiving, unloading, storing, and displaying of orders, and products
- Operate and clean all deli equipment and tools while maintaining overall cleanliness and organization of the department
- Assist in stocking and maintaining displays ensuring they are attractive and filled
- Must be a team player and goal oriented
- Position involves continuous interaction with customers in a fast paced, fun environment
- Must be flexible, be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to move or lift 5-40 pounds on average
- Perform other duties or assignments as directed
- A love of food, passion for creativity, and a willingness to learn
