Bode Equipment Company is a turn-key distributor of material handling systems, construction, and loading dock/door solutions. Since 1975, we have offered design, layout, sales, installation, and service throughout New England. Headquartered in Londonderry, NH and having a branch location in Marlborough, Massachusetts, we are well positioned to service our clients throughout the region.

Summary: We are seeking a Design Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have architectural skills-based training and experience, and mechanical design skills to develop and create practical solutions for our customers. At times, this position is customer-facing.

Our ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a good understanding of the principles of spatial perception and scale, and proficient knowledge of CAD software. This Position reports to the Project Engineer

Responsibilities:

· Use AutoCAD, Microsoft Office & Teams, and NetSuite

· Office-based position with travel to jobsites as required.

· Interact directly with customers and teammates.

· Parallel handling of multiple project assignments.

· Create technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and architectural plans based on given specifications and calculations.

· Collaborate with designers, contractors, and engineers on projects.

· Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes.

· Accommodate safety procedures and issues in installation and construction drawings.

· Assess potential problems and suggest remedial measures.

· Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established requirements, specifications, and standards.

· Ensure drawings and designs are accurate and complete.

· Stay updated with emerging technologies, software, and trends in the drafting field.

· As needed, create project schedules and comply with deadlines

· Maintaining organized work files and project documentation

Requirements:

· 2-year Architectural or Mechanical Engineering degree or relevant experience.

· Hands-on practical experience with a relevant trade either in a direct-employment, internship, or apprenticeship program a plus

· Proficient knowledge/use of AutoCAD 2D software.

· Capable user of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Teams

· Microsoft Project experience is a plus

· Become proficient with NetSuite

· Available to work 100% office-based and have transportation to travel to jobsites as required

· Interact directly with customers and teammates, consistent with Bode's core values.

· Parallel handling of multiple project assignments.

· Ability edit/develop basic architectural plans/CAD files

· Mechanical design ability using CAD.

· Good communication skills - oral and written

· Abilities to work in a team environment.

· Basic Understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods

· Attention to detail and technical drawing skills to create detailed, accurate designs/drawings.

· Knowledge of engineering practices, building codes, and construction details is a plus

· Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies

· Time management skills to work/prioritize multiple parallel projects and complete projects on schedule and meet deadlines
