General Summary:

Works with Director of Operations and Executive Director to implement the fundraising and public relations operations of the agency by planning, organizing, and implementing a multifaceted and comprehensive giving program for the agency consistent with the intentions of the Board of Trustees.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Build relationships with donors, business sponsors, funders, and volunteers that result in increasing commitment to the work of the agency and that build revenue.
  • Participate in the agency’s Development Committee, engaging with Board members and general volunteers.
  • Working within the framework of the mission and values of The Friends Program, provide input to and implement an annual fundraising plan.
  • Regularly review outcomes and performance against plans and to make recommendations for adjustments and improvement to the fundraising plan.
  • Contribute to the planning and budgeting for the agency’s development function.
  • Work with Director of Operations to set plan for supportive measures with Friends Program Program Directors to ensure well planned/developed, accurate, and on time grant submissions.
  • Raise the agency’s public awareness by actively working with local media and other relevant groups/organizations.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Operations and the Administrative Assistant, ensure that the donor database is kept up to date and contains accurate donor information.
  • Ensure that the Director of Operations is fully briefed on all development-related activities.
  • The Executive Director or Director of Operations may require any other duties of a compatible nature from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associates' Degree or equivalent working experience as appropriate/related to administration, marketing, or similar.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong organizational and management abilities.
  • Sensitivity, familiarity, and appreciation of a non-profit agency environment are required.
  • Possesses the ability to think strategically, tactically, creatively, and flexibly.
  • Database (LGL Little Green Light) experience preferred
  • Able to travel locally with some regularity.

Machines, Equipment Used:

  • General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, computer.

Physical Requirements:

  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and ability to push/pull a minimum of 30 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceed these minimum requirements.
  • Able to travel locally with some regularity.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to present to local groups on behalf of the Friends Program.
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail oriented manner.
  • Ability to work independently.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure.

This position is classified as having “Episodic Access” or less to vulnerable populations for the Corporation for National Service Criminal History Check requirements. This individual is subject to background screening at that level per the latest Friends Program NSCHC documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
