This position is located in Wilmington, Delaware. The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington is seeking a Development Coordinator to support the fundraising and public relations efforts of Catholic Charities’ ministries and programs within the Diocese of Wilmington.

The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports donor cultivation and relationship management through coordination of personalized follow-up communications with donors, and research of donor capacity and affinity.
  • Supports the grant writing process by researching opportunities, assisting in the gathering of information for the preparation of grant applications, and managing submission timelines.
  • Utilizes Raiser’s Edge to manage donor information and gifts, record donor communications, and track information on donor capacity and affinity.
  • Initiates the gift acknowledgment process, ensuring donors receive prompt and sincere gratitude for their contributions.
  • Assists the Development Manager with planning and executing major events, including concerts, 5K walks/runs, Circle of Honor events, and annual tribute dinners. Provides assistance with the distribution of sponsor materials and participant registration to ensure successful events.
  • Coordinates social media content production, including contribute engaging content for various social media platforms to increase visibility and support for Catholic Charities ministries and programs, and implementing social media strategies to engage with the community and promote fundraising events and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Marketing, or a related discipline with experience in social media management and content creation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of crafting engaging donor communications and social media content.
  • Basic understanding of fundraising principles and donor relationship management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adept at learning new software and database systems.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a team environment.
  • Willingness to take initiative and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on different roles as needed within the development team.
  • High level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising and donor information.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Willingness to consent to and ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with applicable laws.
  • A genuine interest in and commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church and its charitable activities.
