Job Description

As the Digitization Solutions Specialist (Technical) for Digital Transitions, you will be responsible for offering professional one-on-one technical consultation to our clients during the sales process and installation and training services post-sale for imaging solutions within the heritage market. This position focuses on utilizing Digital Transitions’ hardware and software products to provide creative workflow solutions based on the clients' needs. The additional responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, equipment testing, email and phone support, and technical sales support.

This position is public-facing. We are looking for someone who can think critically and can communicate technical photographic information to various stakeholders who have different knowledge levels. We are looking for a team-oriented person willing to grow with the department and our company. This job can be located at any of our locations, NY, NJ, VA, or LA.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and Operator training on DT equipment and custom solutions
  • Provide telephone and email support for clients in the following areas:
  • Production Workflow Improvements
  • Color Management and Validation Workflows
  • Capture One Technical Support
  • Digital Back Technical Support
  • Camera Support
  • Lighting Support
  • Travel primarily in North America, but some international travel might be required.
  • Develop and document custom workflow solutions with Digital Transitions’ products
  • Receive feedback from the clients to further improve Digital Transitions’ products
  • Provide services and repairs on Digital Transitions’ hardware
  • Demonstrate Digital Transitions’ solutions alongside the sales team
  • Participate in Trade Show and Exhibitions (as needed)
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Knowledge & Proficiency Requirements

  • Three years of experience at an institution of Heritage (museum, library, archive) or at a manufacturer or service bureau that caters to this market
  • Capture One Pro & CH Software
  • Phase One XF, XT, and iX Systems
  • Valid Driver's License
  • College-level photographic skills or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Imaging Standards
  • FADGI, METAMORPHOZE, ISO 19264
  • Experience with Golden Thread Analysis Software
  • Experience with BasicColor software

Other Knowledge Preferred

  • Digital Transitions 101 & 201 Courses
  • Phase One Certified Professional (POCP)
  • Basic knowledge of Collections Management Systems
  • Basic knowledge of Asset Management Systems
  • Basic knowledge of Client Management Systems
  • G-Suite and MS Office
  • Cultural Heritage Collections Photography
  • Basic Knowledge of Museum Library and Archives Collections Processing
  • Analogue Photographic Processes
